What is the heat network transfer?

The transfer station hands the plant's heat to the network. Heat that finds no customer is not a by-product — it is a loss that was paid for with substrate.

The scenario: The return temperature creeps upward as customers are added over the years. The network still delivers, but each customer takes less from the same volume of water — the pumps work harder for heat that is no longer being handed over.

Why it matters

Heat utilisation decides whether cogeneration deserves the name. Every unit of heat that reaches a customer is revenue from gas that has already been burnt.
