What is the solid feed system?

The solid feed system doses stackable substrate into the digester. Its auger and drive decide how evenly the biology is fed — and uneven feeding is felt in the gas yield long before it is visible anywhere else.

The scenario: Material bridges above the auger. The drive keeps turning and reports a normal cycle, but less substrate reaches the digester than the plan assumes — the gap only becomes visible days later in the gas curve, when the cause is already gone.

Even feeding stabilises the biology. Detecting bridging early avoids the emergency intervention that costs both an outage and a disturbed process.
